Terms of Use - Aim
The terms of use are intended to provide guidance on website content, particularly as it relates to Council's role as administrator of the LinkingLogan Community Portal.
Goal of LinkingLogan Community Portal
The purpose of developing a community portal is to create an interactive and informative service for the community, business and government sectors of Logan. The overall goal of this project is to provide all facets of the community of Logan with an innovative, effective and highly efficient tool to connect, collaborate and participate.
Eligibility for inclusion on the LinkingLogan site
To be included on the website, an eligible group, organisation or individual must apply to the LinkingLogan administrators for listing by completing an application form available from the LinkingLogan administrators or online.
An eligible group is defined as an organisation or collection of like-minded people providing non-profit services to the Logan community.
However, the LinkingLogan administrators have the sole discretion to determine eligibility for inclusion. The administrators may refuse to include a group, organisation or individual from listing at any time for any reason whatsoever, without prior notice.
User authentication via a registration process is required to access the LinkingLogan secure networks pages. To register as a member and have access to secure site content, an organisation must belong to a recognised community services network. For a list of these networks please contact the administrators.

Criteria for Inclusion of Content on LinkingLogan
The website is intended for use by anyone in the community and therefore all content must conform to the standards outlined.
These standards may be varied by the LinkingLogan administrators from time to time without notice. The LinkingLogan administrators will determine if information meets the standards and may refuse to include any information, at its absolute discretion.
LinkingLogan cannot be used to promote:
· Individual persons
· Adult services
· Illegal activities
· Groups that promote activities that are illegal
· Hate groups
· Groups that incite or encourage distrust or intolerance of other groups or
individuals
· Political parties or organisations
Content will not be placed on LinkingLogan that is:
· Offensive
· Violent
· Explicit or suggestive
· Supportive of illegal, immoral or unethical behaviour or actions
· Misleading
· Personal
· Discriminatory (e.g. racist or sexist)
· Defamatory
· Confidential or private (unless on the secure networks pages)
· Promotion of services that do not contribute to the Logan community

LinkingLogan Forum and Resources Page
One of the exciting features of the LinkingLogan site is that it allows you an opportunity to publish your views on topics of interest on our forum and pertinent documents on our research and resources pages.
While LinkingLogan believes that on-line discussion forums are an ideal way of learning more about the diversity of public views and opinions on issues that affect Logan, the generally unrestricted nature of the Internet could potentially lead to the discussions being abused or misused by some people.
To facilitate the free exchange of public opinion and at the same time monitor any potentially disruptive or undesirable input, LinkingLogan's administrators will moderate any content submitted to the forum or research and resources page. Approval by the administrators must be granted before any content will be uploaded.
LinkingLogan administrators have the right to:
- Refuse, or remove from the site, material submitted by a user which in the administrator'sreasonable opinion tends to incite violence, racial hatred or intolerance against any group in our society, or which in the moderator's opinion may constitute a defamatory statement, an infringement of copyright or a breach of any other law; and
- Edit, abridge, amend or otherwise alter any material submitted to the LinkingLogan site for publication.
In the event that the administrators edit, abridge, amend or otherwise alter a user's submitted material, the user shall (whenever possible) be advised accordingly and given the opportunity to withdraw the information from publication.
Only items submitted with a valid email address and/or other valid, up-to-date contact details will be considered for publication.
In addition, please note that a user is not entitled to have their material published in any circumstances, and the administrators have complete discretion as to whether to permit publication.
Any comments contained on the discussion forum are the comments of their author only and are not the comments of the LinkingLogan administrators or its partners.
